Skin Prep: The 30-Day Countdown

The biggest bridal skincare mistake isn't doing too little — it's trying something new too close to the wedding. Thirty days out is the cutoff for introducing anything your skin hasn't already tolerated for at least a month.

In the first two weeks of the countdown, focus on hydration and barrier repair rather than aggressive treatments — a consistent routine of gentle cleansing, a ceramide-rich moisturiser and daily SPF does more for camera-ready skin than any single facial.

Any facial involving extractions, peels or lasers should be booked no later than three weeks out, and never in the final two weeks — the risk of redness, purging or an uneven reaction is too high to gamble that close to the event.

In the final week, stop experimenting entirely. Stick to what your skin already knows, sleep as much as you can manage, and let the makeup artist do their job on the day.
